The Murder Mystery is a fundraiser for the School House Charities which are nominated by the different houses Tudor, Wessex, Lancaster, York and Stuart. Therefore whichever tutor solves the Murder Mystery, the School house they are participating for will gain the money and this will donated to the selected Charities. This means that the event has an ethical purpose, as it is supporting people while also entertaining and providing good practice and ideas.

The house charities include firstly the Dorset Children's Foundation, which is for Wessex. Currently Lancaster does not have a house charities but any funds made from this event will be donated to either Julia's HouseCancer, Research, Mind and Coronavirus Charities/ NHS. These are still undecided as Lancaster houses do not want to promise charity funds if we have very limited funds to donate. Last year Lancaster raised £1200 and as group and running the Murder Mystery we would like to contribute to help provide similar funds this year.
The event which we are going to undertake is a Murder Mystery, which will be held . We have come to this decision after looking at a variety of different possible event ideas and came to the conclusion that this was the most suitable and logical event idea. This is because we investigated all of the problems with the other event ideas and worked out that this had the least amount of problems.
This event would involve the school, with each house and tutor competing with one another. In order to catch the killer (or killers). The murders will be committed by a member of staff, and of taken place within the school site. Therefore bringing more elements to our murder and the subsequent investigation that will be done.
